"It's a dog's world. We're just here to open the gates."Angie and Jake Schuldies (that's us!) opened the Dog Haus Dog Daycare LLC in November 2005. Opening a daycare had been a dream for us for over a year, and we are beside ourselves thinking of our good luck of being able to make this dream come true. After taking our dogs to a wonderful daycare in Arizona for a year, we moved to Wisconsin to be near family and to open this business. We both have been owned by dogs and cats throughout most of our lives. After all, we don't really own them, they own us, right?! Angie volunteered with two rescue groups in Arizona, caring for and walking dogs waiting at a kennel to be adopted. Angie has worked at a doggie daycare and a kennel over the last year, and is certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid. Jake opened our loving home to several foster dogs, some that stayed only briefly, and some that required extra time and attention. We are wrapped around the paws of our two dogs - Elwood and Packer. Packer is a 4 year old pure-bred Miniature Pinscher that we adopted from a Miniature Pinscher rescue in Arizona after his owner dropped him off there because he didn't want him sleeping in his bed anymore and of course he wouldn't stop. So now he snuggles under the covers with us every night, and we couldn't be happier. Elwood is a 2 year old Shepherd/Lab mix that we adopted from The Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL), a rescue group that saves dogs on the euthanasia list at the local pound and gives them a temporary home until they are adopted. Elwood had been at AAWL for over a month when we found him, and we don't have a lot of details about his past except that he did spend some time living on the street. He is our Velcro dog - always wanting to be right by us and get lots of love and attention, and that's okay by us. CaretakersHolly 
I've grown up my entire life around dogs and animals. Im outgoing and love to talk to people about animals. I've lived in Madison my entire life, and even though I lived a short time in FL playing paintball, I still call Madison home. Between 2 families, I have 7 dogs. I live with one, a beagle named Ben. He's my heart. I couldn't imagine life without him. My other dogs include another beagle, a 280 lb. St. Berni, a 180 lb. St Berni, a Shepherd, a Sheltie, and a Rat Terrier. Life can't get much sweeter. Jessica 
I've worked at the Dog Haus since July 2006. I am a junior in High School and i love my job! Nothing can make you feel as good, after a long day of school, to come in and play with the dogs. The love they show me is undeniable and they are all so sweet! Leah 
My name is Leah. I was born and raised in Mt. Horeb and moved to Madison for college. I attend MATC for the accounting program, but my secret love are the dogs. I work at a boarding kennel/vet clinic when I am not here playing with the the doggies. I recently just rescued Eve, a 7 year old Akita. I also have a chocolate lab named Wade. I love coming to work and playing or cuddling with the dogs. I think i even love crazy ball time more than the poochies! Natalie 
I just graduated from high school in June of 2007, and plan to attend MATC in the coming years as part of the Veterinary Technician program. My love of animals brought me to The Dog Haus. I love spending time with the dogs, especially since I don't have one of my own just yet. That should change soon though! Lindsay

Hi, I'm Kim. I grew up on a 360 acre dairy farm in Banger, WI where my mom had a grooming business. I got involved in working with dogs through 4-H and the birth of my puppy Littlewoof (my mom also raises and shows Shelties). I moved to Madison to attend the UW where I am majoring in History of Science. Not only do I get to play with the dogs all day, but I get to work with my roommate Leah too! |
